One that understands there is a time to grow, a time to flourish, a time to release and a time to rest.
For thousands of years, Chinese thinkers and observers of nature have explored the rhythms of the Sun, Moon and changing seasons, recognising patterns that connect our lives with the world around us.
Not simply as a way of measuring time.
But as a way of understanding how to live within it.
The Natural Order is a seasonal living fellowship rooted in Chinese medicine, Daoist philosophy and the timeless wisdom of nature.
A place to rediscover the art of nourishing life.
To live with greater awareness of the changing world.
And to remember that you have always belonged to it.
Somewhere along the way, we forgot.
We began living by clocks and calendars that had little relationship with the world outside our windows.
We learnt to measure our lives through productivity, achievement and the relentless pursuit of more.
We expected ourselves to flourish in every season.
To keep growing.
Keep creating.
Keep going.
Yet nothing in nature lives this way.
The trees do not bloom all year.
The rivers do not always rush.
Even the Earth has seasons of stillness.
And so do we.
The Natural Order is an invitation to remember this.
To return to a life guided by awareness rather than expectation.
To nurture your nature.
And discover the extraordinary freedom of simply being human.
The Sun. The Moon.
The Turning Earth.
Imagine a calendar that does more than tell you the date.
One that invites you to notice the lengthening light.
The first blossom.
The changing air.
The quiet arrival of frost.
A calendar that helps you recognise the rhythms unfolding around you and consider how they might inform the way you live.
Within The Natural Order, we explore three beautiful expressions of natural time.

An introductory map of natural rhythms, with Earth at the centre of the Five Phases.

The changing phases offer a symbolic rhythm of illumination, reflection and renewal.
Three traditional observations within each Solar Term invite attention to smaller changes in nature.
Wood: spring and growth. Fire: summer and flourishing. Metal: autumn and release. Water: winter and restoration.
Earth at the centre: nourishment, ripening and the transitions connecting the seasons.
A conceptual map, rather than a date-specific astronomical calendar. Solar Terms follow the Sun's apparent annual movement. The Moon follows its own monthly cycle and its phases do not occupy fixed positions in the solar year. Sun as Yang and Moon as Yin are symbolic Daoist associations.
The great annual movement of the seasons.
The 24 Solar Terms mark subtle changes in the solar year, revealing a landscape of continuous transition.
The changing lunar phases offer another rhythm through which to contemplate light and darkness, renewal and reflection.
Within the 24 Solar Terms are 72 traditional observations of nature.
Small moments that invite us to notice how the world is changing, often before we have found the words to describe it.
Together, these rhythms become a way of paying attention.
Not another set of rules to follow.
A way of seeing.
A way of living.
Within Chinese medicine, the Five Phases offer another way of understanding the movements of nature.
Each expresses a particular quality of life.
And each has something to teach us.
The rising movement of spring.
New growth, possibility and the courage to begin.
The warmth and expansion of summer.
Connection, vitality and the fullness of expression.
The wisdom of ripening, nourishment and transition.
A moment to gather, integrate and return to what sustains us.
The gathering movement of autumn.
Discernment, refinement and the grace of letting go.
The stillness and depth of winter.
Restoration, conservation and the quiet preparation for renewal.
The beauty of Yang Sheng, the art of nourishing life, is that it does not require us to retreat from the world.
It invites us to become more attentive to the life we already live.
To notice what nourishes us.
To understand when we need movement and when we need rest.
To recognise how the changing seasons might influence the food we prepare, the practices we choose and the way we care for ourselves.
Within The Natural Order, ancient ideas become simple, accessible experiences.
A moment of Qi Gong.
A seasonal meal.
A guided meditation.
An acupressure practice.
A few minutes spent noticing the world outside your window.
Nothing to perfect.
Nothing to prove.
Only a deeper relationship with the life that is already here.
Because the art of living well begins with learning to listen.
The Natural Order is an evolving sanctuary of seasonal wisdom, practical teachings and shared discovery.
As the year unfolds, so does our journey.

The Natural Order follows the turning year.
We begin with the season we find ourselves in and continue through the changing landscape together.
In spring, we explore awakening and growth.
In summer, the fullness of life.
Through Earth's nourishing influence, we contemplate ripening, integration and transition.
In autumn, we consider the art of gathering and release.
And in winter, we return to stillness, conservation and the quiet work of renewal.
Each Solar Term opens a new chapter.
Each observation offers a new invitation.
And each year brings another opportunity to understand the familiar world in a different way.
You may join at any point.
The year is a circle.
There is no beginning you have missed.
The Winter New Moon | A Quiet Beginning
The Natural Order opens with the new moon on 9 December, deep in the quiet of winter.
Before the first shoots appear, life gathers beneath the surface.
This is where we begin.
In the stillness.
In the listening.
In the gentle preparation for what is yet to come.
As the year turns, we make space to notice what nourishes us, what we are ready to release and what we wish to cultivate in the year ahead.
Drawing upon the Water phase, we explore rest, conservation and the quiet conditions from which new growth can emerge.
The new moon offers a symbolic beginning. A moment to pause, set an intention and consider what we wish to grow into in the coming year.
We do not need to hurry towards spring.
We begin by tending the roots.
Together, we prepare the ground for the season to come.
Our journey begins on 9 December. Live gathering times and joining arrangements will be confirmed personally when you enquire.

Three interconnected offerings.
Different ways of exploring the same living philosophy.

The Natural Order is guided by Kat, a fourth-generation Chinese medicine practitioner, somatic bodyworker and spiritual mentor with over twenty years of experience exploring the relationship between body, mind, energy and the natural world.
Drawing upon Chinese medicine, Daoist philosophy and decades of practical experience, Kat brings ancient teachings into everyday life with warmth, depth and a refreshingly human approach.
Her work is rooted in a simple understanding.
We are not separate from nature.
And perhaps some of the most meaningful changes in our lives begin when we remember that we belong to it.
Meet KatNot at all. The Natural Order is designed to make the wisdom of Chinese medicine and seasonal living accessible, whether you are completely new or have been exploring these ideas for years.

They are 24 divisions of the solar year used in the traditional Chinese calendar, marking seasonal transitions approximately every 15 days.
They are traditional observations of changes in nature, with three associated with each Solar Term. We use them as invitations to notice the living world, recognising that local seasonal signs may differ from those originally recorded in China.
We explore the Moon as a complementary rhythm and a symbolic expression of Yin. The lunar cycle is distinct from the solar-term calendar.

You do not need another system telling you how to live.
Perhaps you simply need the space to remember what living feels like.
To feel the changing seasons.
To understand your own rhythms.
To find beauty in the ordinary.
To experience life not as something to conquer, but as something to belong to.
